Expert independent advice, for all stages of life
What we do
Denyer is an independent financial advice firm where you get the best, impartial advice tailored to you, jargon-free.
It all starts with a chat. We believe the best financial advice has your best interests at heart, so we will get to really know you through our initial meeting and it’s important that you get to know us too.
You may be looking to retire, wanting to build wealth, or you could be at the beginning of your savings journey. No matter what stage you are at, we can help you build a financial plan that is bespoke to you; your circumstances, your needs, and your goals.
We can also help you put protection measures in place for you and your family to guard against life’s unexpected events.
Our Process
1 Discovery Meeting
Your chance to tell us how we can assist you in achieving your goals, and our chance to explain our advice process further including service and fee levels
2 Information Gathering
You share your detailed financial information with us. We may also ask you to sign Letters of Authority so we can retrieve information about existing policies on your behalf
3 Establishing Priorities
As part of our information gathering, you confirm what your specific priorities and concerns are. We discuss other areas that you may want to consider or that are important to factor in, based on what you have told us
4 Researching
We review your current situation and take a deep look at your existing arrangements. We then research suitable products and prepare bespoke recommendations to meet your objectives and address possible areas of concern
5 Presenting Recommendations
We discuss our research with you, taking the time to explain our recommendations and answer all of your questions. We will make sure that you leave this meeting with a full understanding of what is being recommended so that you can make an informed decision when you are ready
6 Implementing
If you wish to engage our services, we will agree on how our recommendations will be carried out and we will explain any applications that need to be submitted or contracts that need to be put in place
7 Ongoing services
We are proud of the long-standing relationships we have with the majority of our clients. Ongoing advice refers to continuous guidance and support regarding the management of your investments and can include regular reviews, adjustment recommendations, and performance updates.

Our Team
Simon Hill
Managing Director and Independent Financial Adviser
Simon has been a financial adviser for 37 years and comes with a wealth of practical knowledge built from working within large financial institutions and then setting up his own consultancy with his wife, Jacqui, in the 1990s. With particular specialist expertise in pension and retirement planning, tax planning and investment management, Simon prides himself on being able to see through often complex scenarios to show a clear path forward. He oftens uses off-the-cuff diagrams and drawings to explain complex financial products, tailoring his approach to your needs. A keen sailor, outside of work he can often be found single-handedly sailing his sport catamaran on a lake or the sea, before heading to a newly discovered pub with his wife, Jacqui, and Shetland Sheepdog, Squidge.
Emily Tse
Independent Financial Adviser DipFA
Emily passed her Level Four Advanced Diploma in Financial Advice with the London Institute of Banking and Finance in 2023 making her a qualified Independent Financial Advisor. She is now adding to her knowledge and specialising in investment management, tax planning and retirement planning by taking the Level 6 Diploma in 2024. With a background in startups and franchised small businesses and now being a working mum, Emily keenly understands the importance of having a financial plan that works not only for you and your future, but for your whole family – especially if you run your own small business. Emily enjoys travelling with her young family, often visiting Hong Kong to see friends and relatives. Most of her time outside of work consists of keeping up with her two pre-school aged boys who have discovered the speed of bicycles and scooters!
Gill Fidler
Gill started working for us in 2018 having been in the insurance industry for over 40 years. After she was made redundant from AON where she worked with High Net Worth clients and the compliance team within the company, she was looking for a part time role and the position within Denyer suited her experience perfectly. Gill is both office manager and general whip-cracker, ensuring that the ship runs smoothly. Outside her time at work, she helps look after her four grandchildren, especially with the ferrying to their various footy matches and training sessions! She spends a lot of time walking with her husband and her dog, Monty, and if there is a Real Ale pub at the end of the walk, even better.
Jacqui Hill
Jacqui is at the heart of Denyer’s core values. Jacqui ran the general insurance division of Denyer for over 20 years and from its outset ensured that our ethos of providing an excellent service with care and understanding was included in every inch of the company. Along with the rest of the team, Jacqui’s unwavering dedication to this ethos is a large part of why we have so many long-standing and family group clients. After successfully selling the general insurance part of Denyer in 2019, she now works flexible hours as Director and manager of its administration. Always up for an adventure, Jacqui likes nothing more than a hike with the family dog, Squidge, especially if it culminates in a pub lunch.
